Dan sent us this photo of his family paddling in their Heron. Dan says, "We love the size of the Heron. We can hand stuff back and forth to each other without getting out of our seats. It's light enough for us older folks to handle. It's performance beats anything we encountered at the liveries, including our past owned Sawyer and Old Town. The Great Blue Heron is one of our favorite birds and we have seen many from inside this canoe. Thanks for all the fun!"

Phil Galchutt and friends took a trip to the BWCA in September. Phil said the week was filled with crazy weather conditions, with temps ranging from the low 30's to the high 60's, along with winds, freezing rain, and snow. But all throughout, the ultra-light MN II they rented from Sawtooth Outfitters in Tofte, MN performed wonderfully.
They also made a new "friend" along one of the portages as they were exiting Lake Polly.

Vern Matthews submitted this photo in remembrance of their loving dog "Bombero" along with this touching story of survival:
"Bombero (Spanish for Firefighter) got his name because I found him when I was working a wildland fire in the mountains near my house. I'm a Paid Call Fire Captain for San Bernardino County Fire Department in Southern California. I found him nearly dead beside the dirt road we were traveling. He was so bad off he couldn't bark, bite, or struggle. He was starving, severely dehydrated...and then faced with the oncoming fire. I pulled the water tender over, jumped out, picked him up, and dropped him in my firefighter's lap. On the way back to the station for supplies, I called my wife and had her meet us at the station. My youngest son (also an avid paddler) spent the next few weeks literally nursing him back from the brink of death. He was an old dog when we found him, yet he never missed a single trip out on the water. This photo was one of the last photos taken of Bombero, while he was resting on the bow of our Wenonah Itasca after a day of paddling and camping on a lake in the California Sierras. We will always cherish the time he gave us."

John Arnett took this photo at Trappers Lake, located in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area of Colorado. John says, "The interesting thing about this lake is that the catch and release Colorado Cutthroat Trout LOVE to follow my wife's Ultra-Light Prism. It must be the color or the sunlight coming thru the Kevlar fabric because as she paddles the shoreline all I have to do is cast my artificial lure off the side of her boat. My wife loves to watch these large cutthroat swimming along side her boat. They go where she goes. Easy fishing until she gets tired of paddling. Oddly, these same fish do not follow my Wenonah Rendezvous."

Chris sent us this adorable photo he took while on their annual day trip to a secluded pond in western Massachusetts on father's day. Chris said the trip involves a 1/2 mile paddle, followed by a 3/4 mile portage, followed by a short paddle, to a short muddy carry, to a fantastic pond. The pond is lined with mountain laurel in full bloom, the fishing is good, and the picnic lunch is always great. This year Chris and the kids are going to see how much of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail they can do.

Corey Ballinger took this photo of his Prism at first light on the chain of lakes near his home in Jackson, Michigan in late October. The air temp was a cool 30 degrees which created a very thick blanket of fog over the much warmer water. Corey absolutely loves how effortlessly the Prism glides through the water on a perfectly calm day.

Vern Matthews took this photo at the boat-in campground at Loon Lake in the High Sierras, California while unloading and securing their canoes prior to dinner. Vern said due to the rocky shoreline and occasional rolling waves, they had to dry-dock the canoes to prevent them from banging around all night. The canoes are an Itasca, Spirit II, and Adirondack.
